I MADE IT, JUST LANDED

I’m scared

those shorts fit sooo damn good!!

My finished garments

Over all I am pleased with my garments. I love the silohettes, and I feel they reflect my research. Whilst my garments are some what sexy, in honour of Cavalli, I feel I had added my style to his name. The use of leather for me was important due to Cavalli using it in a lot of his collections. I feel my use of the different types of suede gives my garments the art deco essence. My models looked beautiful, much appreciation to the both of them. There are a few technical faults in the garment however they are things I am well of. As there is no visible stitching on the garments I had to get my sewing machine to go in all the nooks and crannies, which was difficult at times, in turn I had to hand stitch all areas where the machine could not get into. I am proud of myself. I feel it was a brave move doing simple garments and using only one colour. My aim was for the it to be all about the shape it created on the body and the emotion that should have come from them. As I saw today everyone had really good pieces and you can see every ones style via their garments. I can say that I am a designer that appreciates fabric and in my pieces I really wanted to embrace the suede fabric and try create garments that not only look appealing to the eye but also feel good against the skin. When leaving this uni my aim is to become a designer that relies on shape, structure and sophistication. I hope my tutors can see where I am coming from (I HOPE I PASS)

I just need to make the damn thing *rolls eyes*

I think my shorts are to small, I have lined the waist coat in lace and I hate it IT LOOKS SOOO CHEAP, and I hate the top. These were supposed to be final pieces, they are all lined for fuck sakes. I HAVE TO MAKE THEM ALL OF AGAIN. BUT IT’S FINE I WILL DO THEM AGAIN IT HAS TO BE PERFECT. I NEED TO BUY MORE FABRIC…GREAT

why are assistants in fabric shops so rude…reeaallly!!

LEATHER PLEASE (saw this meat after on my way home from buying my fabric…mmm thinking)

Fabric shopping with the girls. So stressful. Bought real leather and two types of suede. Shephards Bush I love you.. they have good deals down there. They have the same fabric all the shops have in Berwick St for half the price. Spent over £100 which I feel is ok. My 15 yr old brother said to me “Nade your so dumb instead of buying all these pieces of leather, why don’t you just buy a cow” awwwhhhh

Development in idea

I am a designer that creates sophisticated looks. Why am I trying to do things that I feel that the tutors will like or even just doing things just to get the mark. I actually could not care less if you think my garments are boring, all I no is that they have come from a deep place. If you want to fault me, tell me my stitch is wrong or that my gather is not in the right place. This is what I do. Like or Lump

Pfff

I am trying to create garments that are just not my style. FUCK IT

My sorrow Bird (further research please)

I am in love with this bird…

The Sorrow Bird – Poem

A creeeepy poem. You know I’d just loooove for one/some of you clever arty folks to draw the sorrow bird…The Sorrow Bird

If you should hear a mournful song
A tune that makes your skin feel wrong
The melancholy wail you heard
Most likely was the Sorrow Bird

Though to all else the room is still
It spins round you with hollow trill
And burns inside your brain and ears
The sum of all unspoken fears

The Sorrow Bird it rare is seen
Its feathers black, its face serene
It stares right through you to your soul
With empty eyes of coldest coal

It empties you of all your breath
And turns your living into death
For if the Sorrow Bird should show
So comes the hour to slip below

This bird will be important in my collection. SORROW

ART DECO. black is not just black (i think)

I am loving the structure these images have. I love when black is just not just black and green is just not green. The different tones of the same colour adds a fludity to the paintings. I want my collection to have the same quality. I want to use the same colour but use the different tones of the colour to create the movement.

I’m gonna drape the waist coat…me thinks

BORING. I think I will make the waist coat have a racer back. I am planning on lining it. I do not want to have no visible stitching on not only my waist coat but also on all of ma garment. I feel it will add an extra sense of technique, and make the pieces look slick. IF IT ALL GOES TO PLAN. However I am happy with the shape and I think I just need to probably do 1 more toile to make the back look the way I want to.

Toiling

I want to use lace to create the top part of the bodice on the dress.

The neck won’t sit well. I think it is because the lace is cheap.

The bottom half of the dress is pissing me off. I HATE IT. I do not no how to make it look slick. Alexis says I can leave the edges raw. Using jersey makes the piece look cheap. I AM IN CATCH 29!! . I do not no what to do with neck I want it to sit well (frustrated) I no the design may look simple however thats how I want my collection and really focus on the finish and fabric….
